collab, part 9Damien shivered as he sat in the small iron cage the witch had put him in. Thunder crashed above as the wind tore at the thick canvas walls of the tent. Everything was dark inside the tent, only the occasional strike of lightning cast a dim glow through the tent walls, enough to see rows of empty seats and low walls surrounding him on all sides. He rubbed his eyes sleepily, but he was too scared to sleep. He didn't know where the witch had gone or where anyone else was, or even if anyone was coming to get him out of here. He was all alone...  His ear twitched as he heard a new sound... the sound of footsteps? It was faint, but he was sur collab, part 9

Collab, part 8Will climbed slowly to his feet. His limbs still felt heavy and lifeless, but he didn’t care. Using the wall for support, he managed to remain standing until he had recovered enough to walk. He began to head for the door.  Sasha, the only one able to move freely, realized what he was doing. “Where are you going?” she demanded.  Will’s voice was level and blunt, but she could feel the restrained anger in his words. “I’m going to go find her. Wait here.”  “Wait? There’s no way we’re letting you go by yourself!”  “Stay here. You’re injured, and you need to heal. Collab, part 8

Collab, part 7Will snapped awake. It was still dark outside, but something felt wrong to him. He was sure there was something outside the door. He quickly sat up, trying not to wake Damien next to him.  But it was too late. He saw the door open, and a familiar figure standing in the entryway, illuminated by the lightning. It was the same witch from earlier that day.  Will leapt out of bed, ready to fight, when and arc of blue energy sprang from the witches’ fingertips and struck him in the chest. He flew backward and slammed into the wall, falling to the floor in a motionless heap. He tried to get up, but his limbs felt like stone, unmoving, Collab, part 7

Collab, part 6Ink-black clouds covered the night sky, unleashing the pent-up power of their storm. Lightning flashed wildly outside, as thunder shook the windows of the inn. Rain cascaded down upon the rooftops, adding to the deafening noise outside. Yet even with all the noise, everyone remained asleep, completely exhausted from their struggle that day. Everyone, except for Will.  He lay on his bed, eyes closed, thinking about the events that had happened that day. That mysterious witch, the homeless child, the skirmish, so much had happened today. So he lay there, analyzing, turning every detail of the day over in his mind. He did this every night, Collab, part 6
